| The museum is situated in the center of the Ancient Plovdiv. You can reach Ancient Plovdiv by buses No. 1, 7, 20, 26 or a taxi No2. Over Hisar Kapiya Fortress one can go by foot; one can use the signs for orientation. |

Plovdiv is one of the oldest towns in Europe; it is defined as the cultural capital of Bulgaria. The architectural and historical Reserve Ancient Plovdiv include more than 40 monuments of culture of national significance- Ancient Theatre, Hisar Kapiya Fortress, Fortification walls; The Ancient Philippopolis's Forum, the Aqueduct, the Ancient stadium, the Episcopal Basilica, Ancient forum, architectural ensemble on the main street. |

Represents the traditional material and spiritual culture if the Plovdiv region, the Rodopi mountain and the Srednogorie region during the Revival period, especially: agriculture: farming and stockbreeding; Handicrafts; house crafts, pottery, metal extraction crafts, goldsmith; Fabrics and garments: traditional and town costumes, furniture and interior: interiors from Koprivshtitsa, Rodopi and Plovdiv regions; musical instruments and ritual necessities. |

On 20. VII. 1917 year. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and National health approves the Regulation for the work of the Museum.
On 19. ХI. 1917 year - A regulation No.429 of the Plovdiv regional committee was approved for appointment of Yordan PopGeorgiev for a Director and Stoyu N Shishkov for a Secretary of the Museum.
On 28. Х. 1938 year. A Municipal House Museum was established under the authority of Protocol between the Ministry of enlightenment and Plovdiv Municipality.
In 1949 year. Municipal House Museum merges with the National Ethnographic Museum. |
